How often should I brush my pet's fur?
If your pet's fur is short, you should only need to brush their coat once a week. If they have a longer coat, then it may require some extra attention.
If your pet's fur is smooth and short, use a rubber brush and then a bristle brush.

If it is short and dense, use a slicker brush to remove any tangles that the pet might have, proceeding with a bristle brush.

For pets that have a long coat, use a slicker brush to remove any tangles and remember to be extra gentle when you remove mats. One important thing to remember is to never use scissors to cut out mats. This can be extremely dangerous because mats are very close to the skin. Please allow a professional to remove any mats that concern you. After using the slicker brush to get out the tangles, use a bristle brush.

How often should I give my pet a bath?
Depending on the things your pet likes to do and what the weather is like, you may want to bathe your dog every one to three weeks. One thing that is important to remember when it comes to giving your dog a bath is to use dog shampoo. Dog skin is a lot different than humans. You should use a shampoo that will not irritate their skin. The shampoo we use on our hair can cause a dog's skin to dry out.

One thing that can help the process when it comes to giving your pet a bath is to brush out the dog's fur. This will prevent the dog's fur from becoming knotted and tangled after the fur has dried.

Another thing that can be useful is to use a bath mat in the tub. This can help prevent your dog from slipping around in the tub.

Make sure to rinse out the dog's hair well. One common mistake is not removing all of the shampoo when giving the pet a bath. This can irritate the pet's skin.
If you use a hair dryer, be sure to use a low heat setting. This can help the pet's fur dry faster. Before drying the pet's fur, make sure to brush it first. This simple tip can cut your time drying your pet's fur in half.
