Nail Trimming
It is best to get your pet's nails trimmed as often as possible. If your pet's nails are too long, it can be extremely painful for them. It can cause the nail to curl into the pads of the paws. It can get caught onto things. It can also get torn off, which can be very painful. When the pet is walking on hard floors, you should not be able to hear the nails touching the floor. If you do, then it is time for the pet to have their nails done. If your pet's nails are long, you might have to have a visit every other week in order to obtain the perfect size nail, due to the vein inside the nail. If the nail is cut too short, it can cause the nail to bleed. This is why we would recommend coming a week or two after you initial appointment, so we can get the nail to the right length. As far as how often to go, it really depends on your pet. We recommend that you put your pet on a schedule when it comes to trimming their nails. Call to schedule your pet's nail trimming today.
Baths & Hair Cuts
Pretty Paws uses an all natural line of shampoo and conditioning products formulated specifically for your pet's needs. We groom our customer's pets the way they like it. Depending on your pet's breed and hair type, we recommend having your pet groomed every 6-8 weeks. By not having regular grooming appointments, the hair can become long and matted. We also recommend you give your pet baths and brush their hair on a regular basis. As far as how often to give your pet a bath depends on what they like to do and their skin type. If your pet tends to roll around in the dirt, it would be best to give them a bath every other week. If they are more of the type to lay on the couch and don't get dirty as often, you can give them a bath once a month. If your pet is in need of a hair grooming, call Pretty Paws today to schedule an appointment.
